SkinPen is a simple, comfortable, and effective treatment for skin rejuvenation. Most people see results in a few as three 30-minute sessions.
BEFORE TREATMENT
- Your SkinPen technician will gently cleanse your skin. Topical anesthesia may be administered to assure maximum comfort during the treatment.
DURING TREATMENT
- SkinPen creates millions of controlled microchannels in the skin. This jump starts the production of collagen and elastin, and encourages the release of growth factors that recruit and increase reparative cells. The result is a cascade of healing processes that continue for months after your treatments.
- One SkinPen session lasts about 30 minutes. We do recommend 3 sessions for maximum effectiveness.
AFTER TREATMENT
- Your skin may initially appear pink/red, similar to a mild sunburn. This is normal and should subside within 24-72 hours.
- Some people see rejuvenated skin after just one treatment, and results may continue to improve for three to six months following your last session.
- Avoid sunburns 24 hours prior to your treatment
- Discontinue retinols 12 hours prior to your treatment
- You should not have an active cold sore breakout, if you do please contact us to reschedule your treatment
- Wait 48 hours before OR after having Botox®
- Wait 1 week after having fillers
- Wait 1 month before OR after having any laser treatments
- Please do not wear any makeup prior to your appointment
- DAY 1: Mild to moderate redness and swelling, similar to a sunburn. No sunscreen or makeup. You may use the gel provided at your appointment and any aftercare products outlined at your session.
- DAY 2: Some persistent redness and swelling may be present. You may apply the gel from your appointment, sunscreen, and makeup if you'd like.
- DAY 3: Most redness, swelling, and bruising are almost gone
- DAY 4: Return to normal appearance without makeup
Important Tips from our SkinPen Technician
- No sun exposure for 3 days post treatment
- Avoid saunas, steam rooms, and hot tubs for 1-6 days after treatment
- Wear sunscreen!
- Avoid strenuous activities for 3 days after treatment
- You can chill the gel we give you in the refrigerator for more comfort
- You can use a cold compress
- Use clean hands when touching your face- remember there are millions of tiny wounds in your skin
- Some bruising, pinpoint bleeding, and minor scabbing may occur between days 1-7. This is normal.
