Meet Our Staff

Dr. Jeffrey Alan Messenger is a board-certified Dermatologist practicing in Lansing and Battle Creek since 2016. He is a leader in skin cancer treatment, holding additional board certification in the highly specialized field of MOHS micrographic surgery. This prestigious distinction signifies his expertise in precisely removing skin cancers while minimizing scarring and preserving healthy tissue.

He graduated first in his class from The Ohio State University in 2012, earning his M.D. with the highest distinction (summa cum laude). Dr. Messenger then completed his residency at the University of Michigan, where he served as the Chief Dermatology Resident.

With his extensive training and commitment to continued education, Dr. Messenger is exceptionally equipped to diagnose complex skin conditions––including rare infections, cancers, and underlying autoimmune disorders. He is also a faculty member at the Michigan State University College of Medicine, where he engages in research and trains future physicians. Outside of work, he is a loving husband and father of 3. In his free time, he enjoys working out, live music, and family movie nights.

Allison Wheeler is board-certified by the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and is licensed in the State of Michigan. She received her bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University and her Master of Science of Physician Assistant Studies from Trine University.  Allison is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA).

Allison grew up in the Lansing area. She enjoys traveling, adventuring with her dog, and spending time with her friends and family. 
 

Stacey Olivier grew up in DeWitt, she received her undergraduate degree from Alma College in 2004 and her Masters of Science in Physician Assistant studies from Central Michigan University in 2006. She's been practicing Dermatology since 2011. Stacey has four kids, two boys and twin girls, they live in Grand Ledge. In her spare time she enjoys yoga, gardening, and adding animals to their little farm.

Stacey will be joining MDI this summer working in Battle Creek and transitioning full time to our Okemos location.

Maren is board-certified physician assistant by the NCCPA. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University in 2014 before completing her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at the University of Dayton in 2018.

Maren grew up in Traverse City, MI and currently resides in the Portage area with her husband and dog. In her free time, she enjoys trying new restaurants, traveling, hiking and spending time with family and friends. 

Maren is excited to join MDI and is dedicated to empowering patients to feel confident in their skin.

Miranda is our Practice Manager with over 7 years of experience working alongside Dr. Jeff Messenger. She specializes in working in the clinical aspect of the office, but has
grown to understand and take part in all of the interests and duties of the entire office.

Miranda truly loves working with the patients and the staff. Miranda is a powerful force in the office and uses her positive attitude and tireless energy to encourage others to work hard and succeed. She is inspired daily by her 3 children. In her free time, Miranda likes to spend time with her children and her two pug dogs, Millie and Ema.
