General Dermatology
At Midwest Dermatology Institute, our providers are equipped to evaluate, diagnose, and treat a wide range of skin, hair, and nail conditions — not just the ones with their own page. Whether you've noticed something new, have a longstanding concern, or just want a professional set of eyes on something that's been bothering you, we're here to help.
What We See
General dermatology at MDI covers the full spectrum of skin health. Some of the most common conditions we evaluate and treat include:
Warts and molluscum contagiosum
Hair loss and alopecia (all types)
Nail disorders and fungal infections
Hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating)
Hives and allergic skin reactions
Infections of the skin, including bacterial, viral, and fungal
Pigmentation concerns including melasma and vitiligo
Benign growths including cysts, lipomas, skin tags, and moles
Seborrheic dermatitis and scalp conditions
Dry skin, keratosis pilaris, and other chronic skin conditions
Suspicious or changing lesions that need evaluation
This is not an exhaustive list. If you have a skin concern that isn't listed here, don't hesitate to reach out — chances are we've seen it before.
When to Come In
If something on your skin is new, changing, itching, bleeding, or simply doesn't look right to you, that's reason enough to book an appointment. Early evaluation is always better than waiting.
Accepted Insurances
MDI accepts most major insurance plans for medical dermatology visits. Visit our Accepted Insurances page for a full list, or call any of our three locations and our front desk team will be happy to verify your coverage before your visit.
